Art Explorations
Art Explorations is a year-long elective which offers students the opportunity to create a variety of two and three dimensional art media in an art studio setting as well as the computer lab. Utilizing elements of art and principles of design, students will develop visual literacy skills while gaining a historical understanding and appreciation of the art media involved. This course provides foundational skills for future art classes at the high school and college level. Projects covered include painting, mosaic, paper mache, drawing/design, photography, Photoshop, and Stop Motion claymation. Students will maintain a digital portfolio throughout the year, and their work will be featured in Earl Warren’s bi-annual arts festivals. Students are encouraged to enter local, state, and national competitions as well as submit art to the San Diego County Fair. Feed your studio and digital creativity through Arts Explorations!
